“I’m Good As Long As Islam Is Good” Prophet ﷺ’s Black Mother | A Woman Never Complained | Shaykh Omar Suleiman

Barakah, Umm Ayman (ra) is a woman that is unlike any other woman, in fact unlike any other human being is that and that she was literally with the prophet salallahu alaihe wasalam from the moment that he was born until the moment that he died. There is no one else that could actually claim that distinction.

She was from Abyssinia and she actually was a slave from Abyssinia. She’s one of three women who would nurse the prophet salallahu alaihe wasalam, that is authentically narrated, it of course. This is the mother of the prophet (saw) Aminah bint Wahb and Baraka Um Ayman and thirdly Halima saida (ra).

At the age of 25, the Prophet became married to Khadijah. He said to her:

“This is Barakah, she is my mother after my mother”.

The second woman to believe in the prophet.Salallahu alaihe wasalam was this woman Umm Ayman (Ra). The prophet (saw) asked her how are you. Listen to the answer that she gave. She said as long as Islam is good, I’m good.

She was the person who would make the prophet (saw) Laugh.

Ask yourself that question, when we do work for this higher purpose of Deen, right? And someone asks you how are you and you are what……, what her answer was; I’m good, as long as Islam is good. Meaning, you know for the cause that I’m dedicated to, I’m okay. – Shaykh Omar Suleiman

Never Ever Be Let Down By Your Past | Divorce Yourself From Toxic People Who Do Religious Blackmail | Mufti Menk

We are on earth right now where we have people around us who keep judging in a way that distracts us. People look at you, they judge you, they judge you based on what? based on your color, They judge you based on your complexion, sometimes on your height, sometimes on your size, sometimes on your nationality, Sometimes perhaps on something.. They judge you based on so many things; so much springs to my mind. They judge you based on your sins.

Allah judges you but he’s the only one who never judges based on your sin. Allah judges, you based on your repentance La ilaha Illa Allah.

People will never forgive the sin you’ve committed even if you’ve changed your life, totally in most cases they won’t… that humankind. Allah is the most merciful, the most forgiving, the most compassionate, the most kind the most good, etc.

Allah gets so happy when people turn to him. Allah says We wipe out your sins, Allah said, you know what let alone wipe out your sins. Whatever sins you’ve committed, We want to convert them into Good Deeds on the right side of your scale because you changed your life. You’re such a lovely person, never ever be let’s down by your past. Leave your past behind forget about it.

Divorce Yourself from toxic, people who might be in your circle of friends so much so that if it is a spouse who is toxic, Allah allows you to actually come out of it.

That is insulting, heaven lies at the feet of your mother is actually a statement that is sometimes used as religious blackmail to keep the person under the spell of a mother when the mother is toxic. And really nasty evil person who won’t even be subhanallah, who won’t be your door to Paradise, Not at all.

May ALlah make it such that people bear witness that we are really good people.

Allah Judges you based on your repentance not on your sin. Allah says your pasts can actually become the biggest blessing no matter how negative it was.  When you just turn to Allah, that is between you and Allah. Allah is here for you.

Sometimes you’re going through a divorce and you know what you went through it Once it was so painful. Divorce is never the end of the world. It might just be the beginning of your life. there will come a time when ease will come through, you go through a divorce.  You’re not the first person you’ll never be the last one. It may not be Be your first divorce, you might go through it again. And again and who knows the third, the fourth person, you’re gonna get to through marriage is going to be wow! The king of your dreams. subhanAllah, it can happen.

Man is such that when we’re going through the issue. It’s the end of the world. It’s not, just ride this for now, you know, the waves are coming in just ride the wave for now and you lay low for  a little while. Thank Allah develop your relationship with Allah. A day will come when you will have the last laugh and always as they say he who laughs last laughs the best.

You say o Allah, forgive me, It is a massive act of worship because you’re acknowledging that Allah is the owner of forgiveness, Allah is the owner of goodness. He’s the owner of punishment. He’s the owner of everything.

There is a hope for everyone, the worst from amongst us. There is a hope for and the best from amongst us must not become so proud and arrogant. – Mufti Menk

Three things To Build a special status with Allah | Allah’s response to His Friends | Shaykh Omar Suleiman

Close friends of Allah are very much so scattered amongst the people and you don’t know who they are. In fact, some of the Awliya Allah themselves don’t know that they’re wali of Allah. They don’t quite understand how much Allah loves them and how they could have ascended in those ranks.

Three ways that ulemas mentioned that a person attains that status of wilayah of that special friendship with Allah Subhanahu wa’ta’ala. The one that the prophet (saw) narrated and Hadith in qudsi that whoever takes wali of mine someone that is  beloved to me of mine, that special friend of mine as an enemy, I will wage war on him.

Ambiya & Awliya they’re hidden. Ali (ra) said Allah has hidden two things amongst people; He’s hidden His pleasure in His Good Deed. So you don’t know which of the Good Deeds the one that unlocks His pleasure is. And Allah has hidden his Awliya; special friends amongst the people.

There are three things that allow a person to attain that state. The first one is that you do, you fulfill the obligations  and you do good until you taste the sweetness of that good which is the pleasure of Allah and that becomes your unique driving force and The pleasure of Allah becomes your exclusive driving force in life.

And now you start to do the voluntary Deeds until Allah loves you. Until Allah loves you with that exclusive Special Love.

Second one, Is that the sincerity of your repentance? It’s actually a more sudden one, a person makes a sincere repentance to Allah subhanahu wa’ta’ala for Allah subhanaw Taala.

The third one is Allah tests you with a major tragedy. Allah takes away something from you and through that tragedy you do… which is to seek the reward and the reward is Allah’spleasure.

He knows that worldly status is not what conveys, confers status on a person but he had a special status with Allah subhanahu wa’ta’ala, so he said well I ask you by your love for me that you would allow rain to come upon all of us. Ibn Abbas (ra) said I was the only one close enough to that man where I could hear his Dua and as soon as he finished making that dua, started to rain upon all of us.

I looked at him and I thought who is this man? Subhanallah simple servant of Allah subhanahu wa’ta’ala, he was not a alam, wasn’t a scholar. He wasn’t giving kutbah (sermon). He wasn’t someone that was known he didn’t have any prominence, but he had a status with Allah.

If a person reaches that position, it is special and sometimes again, you don’t know.

Nicely Explained! Show Me God But Show Me Your Consciousness | Hashim | Speakers Corner

In this video clip, Brother Hashim explained nicely how atheists or some philosophers or some scientists go against their Fitra (natural constitution) by asking for empirical  evidence for God whereas they can’t show their own consciousness in repose to a Muslim brother’s question which are frequently asked by many Muslim as well with the following Quote of Brother Hahim at Speakers Corner in Hyde park:

Any logical person anyone who got a rational mind Yes, they will come to the conclusion that all this universe and everything didn’t just come about by chance. So asking me empirically evidence for Angels for God and for your own Consciousness is only foolishness because science is a tune which doesn’t have the scope to go beyond the physical world.

The Golden Advice To Be Nicer Person Around & for Long-Term Relationship | Or Six Salah won’t Help | Mufti Menk

None of us are the same even in our thinking. We won’t think the same so, why did Allah make us different? Why do I think differently? You might be married to a person who doesn’t like everything you like. In fact, it will be it has to be it must be, subhanallah. Why have you thought of it?

It’s part of the plan of Allah. He wants us to master the art of living with difference of opinion with differences in our likes and dislike.

Even if you are born of one mother and one father look at the evidence from the time of Abel and Cain, from the time of Adam and Eve, may Allah bless them.

Small issues today and what do we do? It starts off in the heart, we become abusive. We start belittling. We start making people feel inferior. We say words that are hurtful. We say words that are harmful. We say abusive, vulgar words. Do you really think that you’re going to go far by saying these bad things? You have actually lost the plot even if you are making six Salah a day, you’re going nowhere.

Learn to be the best human being you can take a look at the globe, we are suffering simply because we want to impose our own thinking on the rest of the world. That’s why we are struggling. You, don’t do that.

And that does not mean you water down your own opinion. When I’m a Muslim, I will remain Muslim. I will believe what’s right and wrong based on my convictions. But how will I treat someone who disagrees with me? That is something we don’t know and we’re lacking and to me that’s one of the biggest reasons why we are at War today. Not only with the globe but even amongst ourselves.

You should be yourself unique, you don’t compromise your faith what you believe is right. You don’t compromise that. That doesn’t mean you have to belittle someone Else who has thought differently, who’s used the brain Allah gave them to arrive at a conclusion that you consider wrong.

You have to address people with respect from the very beginning. We were taught that as humankind and thereafter as the ummah of the one who was sent as a mercy to the rest, SubhanAllah, salallahu alaihe wasalam.

Do you Shout, Scream, yell, abusive, this that in your house?  You don’t qualify. It’s not a house or a home. It’s just a dwelling.

When you qualify you will have a much better home. Subhanallah, you’re going to have a beautiful environment in that house. You will know how to speak, how to address people, how to tackle difference of opinion and so on.

We don’t even know how to talk to our own spouses. We have such a big disease as Muslims. I promise you, that when a divorce happens, it’s like the end of the world, go to the non-muslims and learn from them.

You have to have a big heart. You have to understand the children belong to both and fulfil their rights.

Trust me. We need to create an environment, we need to create an environment of respect of Love, of dignity.

Young man came to the prophet Peace be upon him He says o messenger give me advice the messenger peace be upon him told him don’t get angry.

We all need that advice because we get angry. When things don’t happen your way and you can calm down, you’re a true follower of that messenger Peace be upon him. You deserve his Intersession on the Day of Judgment. May Allah granted to us.

My brothers and sisters we get angry very fast when something in the home doesn’t happen, whether it’s the child or a spouse or a parent or a sibling, we could so upset us… and how we start venting bad words. And the Hadith is a True Believernever uses an abusive word.

You want Jannah, subhanallah tolerate the heat of the Dunya heat of the fire of jahannam. That to be considered the correct Muslim you must be disciplined, you have to be disciplined. If you’re not disciplined you’re going nowhere.

We belong to different sects as Muslims. How do we treat each other? simple your ego. Throw it out. Come out and say I’m sorry because the day will come when the almighty may not forgive you, subhanallah. – Mufti Menk

Funny! That Portion Will Never Touch Jahannam | An Interesting Tale | Mufti Menk

When we were much younger, we had something known as corporal punishment. And you know what? They did it when they taught us the most sacred book in existence. What is that? What’s that book?

The Quran and then they say it’s the Sunnah of the prophet and I remember them lying to us telling us, the punishment of Jahannam will never touch the place of your body that the scholars whip has lashed on have you heard that one?

It’s a tale, ..Man.

The prophet Muhammad who was sent as a Mercy to Mankind salallahu alaihe wasalam, sent as a mercy to entire humanity and more and Beyond as a mercy how many have graduated in Quran and in hifz and in Knowledge from his hands and how many did he beat up? You follow? Not even one, subhanallah.

Because we are weak and we lack methodology of teaching. We take it out on the ones whom we are teaching and we turn them away from religion completely. – Mufti Menk

Don’t Expose Me! A Story Of Prophet Moses(A.S) And Sinner | Astaghfirullah Wa Atubu Ilaih | Shaykh Omar Suleiman

It was narrated that in the days that Musa (Alahi salaam) wandered with Bani Israel in the desert an intense drought befell them. Together, they raised their hands towards the heavens praying for the blessed rain to come. Then, to the astonishment of Musa (Alahi salaam) and all those watching, the few scattered clouds that were in the sky vanished, the heat poured down, and the drought intensified.

It was revealed to Musa that there was a sinner amongst the tribe of Bani Israel whom had disobeyed Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) for more than forty years of his life. “Let him separate himself from the congregation,” Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) told Musa (Alahi salaam). “Only then shall I shower you all with rain.”

Musa (Alahi salaam) then called out to the throngs of humanity, “There is a person amongst us who has disobeyed Allah for forty years. Let him separate himself from the congregation and only then shall we be rescued from the drought.” That man, waited, looking left and right, hoping that someone else would step forward, but no one did. Sweat poured forth from his brow and he knew that he was the one.

The man knew that if he stayed amongst the congregation all would die of thirst and that if he stepped forward he would be humiliated for all eternity.

He raised his hands with a sincerity he had never known before, with a humility he had never tasted, and as tears poured down on both cheeks he said: “O Allah, have mercy on me! O Allah, hide my sins! O Allah, forgive me!”

As Musa (Alahi salaam) and the people of Bani Israel awaited for the sinner to step forward, the clouds hugged the sky and the rain poured. Musa (Alahi salaam) asked Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala), “O Allah, you blessed us with rain even though the sinner did not come forward.” And Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) replied, “O Musa, it is for the repentance of that very person that I blessed all of Bani Israel with water.”

Musa (Alahi salaam), wanting to know who this blessed man was, asked, “Show him to me O Allah!” Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) replied, “O Musa, I hid his sins for forty years, do you think that after his repentance I shall expose him?”

“Subhanallah, that one moment that person upgraded their status with Allah subhanahu wa’ta’ala by turning back to Allah and prioritizing the pleasure of Allah over all of whatever Disobedience He was committing enough to forbid that entire Ummah, Is the Disobedience even mentioned? No because it doesn’t matter. Because, Allah has Mercy is greater than all of disobediences.  As long as you’re now going to recalibrate and seek Allah’s pleasure over all of that and that’s what counts.” –Shaykh Omar Sueliman

Duas for Prevention & Cure Of Any Type Of Disease, Illness Including Coronavirus | Powerful Duas | Mufti Menk

Many Of us forget that why We are living in this life. We’re actually being given an opportunity to prepare for eternity for the life to come. May Allah make us from those who take heed. Health is absolutely important. One of the aspects is that we should all believe in the statement prevention is better than cure.It is our duty to take care of the health. It is a trust entrusted To Us by Allah (swt) and it is wrong for us to allow ourselves to waste our health be it through a bad habit, being through intoxicants, be it through just throwing ourselves at that which is harmful for us.

We are hearing of a virus and we know of it that has taken the globe by storm at this moment. This coronavirus, May Allah grant us cure and protection. May He cure all those who are affected and may He make it a test and not a punishment.- Ameen

we must make sure that we have done whatever is in our capacity to protect ourselves, to be able to immunise ourselves by the simplest method and that is prevention. Try you best, Make sure your surroundings are clean. Make sure what your touch is clean. Your hands are clean. Make sure you are in a clean environment. if need be perhaps in certain countries, they would put on a mask in order to ensure that the air is somewhat filtered.

Whenever we are failing in health, we always seem to visit  the doctor and we shouldn’t, we must and it’s a duty to visit the doctor to find out what’s wrong with you. People are always anxious as they await results, especially when they’re not doing well at all, Very anxious. Do not remove Allah that equation. Remember the doctors are there to help indeed and we pray for them.

When Ibraheem (Abraham)  alehissalaam declared his faith in Allah subhanahu wa’ta’ala  he clearly said

وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ – 26:80

Wa izaa maridtu fahuwa yashfeen

And when I am ill, it is He who cures me

Trust me, if you were to ask Allah to give cure to a sick person, the Angels would be asking for good health for you as a result.

People say sometimes why I’m a Believer. Why do I have so many tests? Why do I have so many difficulties? Why do I have so many hardships? I can tell you why because you are in the school; you are in the exam room.

Any sickness and anything illness – that brought you closer to Allah was actually a gift of Allah. It was not a punishment, No, was it the anger of Allah.

Oh My Gosh! Same Typical Husband In Jannah | What Will We Get Muslim Women | Mufti Menk

Jannah/ Pardise is not something that I can say…..what if I’m going there I’m going to make sure you’re not there. That’s not how it works.

Because in this Dunya, we have a power struggle in the world. When it comes to Paradise you make dua for others to earn Paradise, the Angels make that dua for you;  you ask Allah to Grant the others Paradise and  Allah subhanahu wa’ta’ala May grant that to you as a result of your prayer for others. May Allah make us people who are generous.

This world Sometimes people have small problems and because Of the problem you said, you this person has really troubled me. I just wish there not in Jannah. What guarantee do you have, you going to be in Jannah?

What if they are making dua to say o Allah this person has hassled me a lot. Let us get to Jannah because I know that in Jannah they won’t hassle. Wow! What a nice way of looking at it. So people start asking, you know, what will I have remember in the process of the discussion of what you are going to actually have a lot of the times we lose focus of actually getting there.

A huge debate like a storm in a teacup. Men will have this, so, what will women have? hang on! we are losing focus, understand the main aim is to get there.  Speaking of Jannah /Jannah, Allah says  in it whatever a soul desires, that soul shall have. – Mufti Menk

Make This Dua If You Are Fallen Into Rivers Of Hardship | How Allah (Swt) Raises Us Under His Eye ~ Shaykh Ali Hammuda

Moses/ Musa (A.S) was chosen by Allah for many characteristics one of which is the fact that he was not afraid to acknowledge his errors and these by the way they wouldn’t be the only examples of how Musa (A.S) retreated to what is right.

Musa (A.S), he threw the Scriptures that Allah had given him just from anger and just shock he just threw the scriptures on the ground and he grabbed his older brother by his hair and by his beard although his brother was older than Musa (A.S) and he began dragging him. Prophet Haroon (A.S) pleaded with Musa (A.S) explaining to him that it’s not his fault.

Moses heart broke to the truth, acknowledged his mistake, repented to Allah and made this following dua:

قَالَ رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِأَخِي وَأَدْخِلْنَا فِي رَحْمَتِكَ ۖ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ

“[Moses] said, ‘My Lord, forgive me and my brother and admit us into Your mercy, for You are the most merciful of the merciful.’” (Quran, 7:151)

He would pick up the scrolls from the floor that he threw and that was the end of the problem, see brother sister a sign that Allah has chosen you for Himself and is preparing you for Himself is that your heart falls into submission whenever it hears the term this is halal, this is Haram, this is doubtful. This is not ours, this is not from our Ummah. This is the obligation  this is the prohibition, your heart submits when you are advised with good manners and with evidence, you rush to make amendments to your relationships, your secret habits, your secret conversations, your business dealings even if they are enormous, your manners, your physical appearance, your dress code, your social media, you submit to the  truth.

Another one of the hallmarks in the life of prophet Musa (A.s) that made him a person who was qualified to be prepared by Allah for Allah was his patience.

Our prophet (saw) would console himself sometimes with the difficult circumstances by remembering the Sira of prophet Musa (A.s).

Remember that above the universe is a Lord who is watching and A Lord who is allowing matters to unfold in the ways which they are. But why are we experiencing this worldwide trial? the answer is in the story that you just heard.

So we have just understood that for those who Allah loves, they may come hand in hand, love of Allah and test they may come hand in hand, this is how we must see our difficult situation as Muslims today. As Allah said to Moosa (A.S) in order that you may be brought up under My eye. We are being brought back to our senses as Muslims. Allah is raising us under His eye. Our hardships, as Muslims undoubtedly they are like none other. But why? Because the prophet muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said about you said about us. He said you are the last of 70 nations which Allah has created. however you are the greatest and most honourable of these nations in the sight of Allah (swt).

Moses (a.s) was being prepared for greatness and this Ummah is being prepared for greatness and so we will have to experience the exact same process that prophet Musa (A.s) underwent. But the shore for Musa (A.s) was near and our Shore is just as near as well. Allah said has full power and control will over his affairs but most people they don’t know. – Shaykh Ali Hammuda
