Beloved parents the children are known in Islam as an Amana. Amana means a trust. You know what the trust means; the one who gave you the trust will instruct you what to do with the trust and you are not allowed to do anything but what the true owner want you to do. Children they belong to Allah, Allah tells you what you are allowed to do, what you’re not allowed to do and you have to do what Allah allows you only. if you do anything more than that you are at a loss.
When I have a child what should I do to the child? I should only do what Allah has allowed me to do.
If you had a powerful relationship with your child from the beginning the child will not make big decisions without you.
They are too scared to approach the parents and when they approach the parents there is Qiyamah in the house. Small Israfil blew a little trumpet in the house. Why? Because there was a breakdown of communication. you have failed as parents and they have not been guided as children.
Allah says make it as easy as possible and remember the child means to want to marry who they are marrying. That’s the primary condition.
If you had communication with the child and cooperation with the child and love with the child and you spent time on with the children rather than with your phone etc etc you would be able to manage the child’s life with the pleasure of the child
If your child has taken something seriously in his or her heart and you don’t help them in a proper respectful respectable convincing way, they’re going to live with a scar for the rest of their lives.
If you had a powerful relationship with your child from the beginning the child will not make big decisions without you. We should guide our kids. When you’re marrying, you’re actually looking for the father or mother of your children, they should have good qualities.

Every single one of us has been created in a way that we need the help of others in order to survive. Have you thought of that? Nobody is absolutely independent/ although; yes, we are dependent upon Allah and Allah alone to fulfill our needs but Allah requires and He sends to us those who will help us fulfill those needs. It doesn’t mean it’s not from Allah.
No matter, what? We need Allah definitely but together with that the plan of Allah includes the fact that we need each other.
The Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him says the Almighty will continue helping His slave as long as that slave continues to help another. Amazing!
You are just a number. That’s it. Don’t ever think that you’re better than the people you are speaking to and don’t ever think that you’re higher than anyone else because if that’s the case you will never be able to reach their hearts. Speak as though they are better than you. You just need to get a message to them.
We complain more than what we used to, when we did not have. Because that’s how materialism works, when you run behind the dunya guess what? It always runs faster than you. subhanAllah, you can never catch up.
When I came into this world I was naked, I had zero, and so whatever I have today is more than what I had the day I was born. That’s it that’s my motivation.
You want to know who is the closest to Allah. It is the person who has the most beautiful character. Your closeness to Allah is very closely reflected in your character. Those who are harsh and hard-hearted they cannot be close to Allah.
If you want to know the type of person you are, if you want to know more about yourself, your character, if you would like to know where do I fit in, there is a test- litmus tests, can test yourself, ask yourself, one question, the answer of it will tell you who you actually are? What’s the question?
The person whom the world considers, the lowest whom the world considers most insignificant, whom the world considers almost irrelevant, how you treat that person will determine who you are.
All those whom the world considers insignificant you should never consider them insignificant. It’s your test.

From the very beginning Adam alayhis-salam he had children. Every one of them had a different brain capacity. They thought differently. They understood at different levels. Every one of them had a different eye ray, a different thumb print, a different identity, a different face, a different complexion etc, that is Allah.
This is the creation of Allah. Every one of us is totally and absolutely unique not only human beings but also every creature. No two will be exactly the same that is the creation of the Creator.
Naturally because we think differently. We will have differences. The first difference that Allah makes mention of right at the beginning in the same children of Adam, first generation of human beings. The story of the two sons of Adam they were both sons from different wombs but they were brothers, recite to them the story when they sacrificed something for the sake of Allah it was accepted from one of them and rejected from the other. so the one whom it was rejected from jealous look at the understanding, look at the brain capacity, look at the way he looked at things and he told him I will kill you.
look at what Qabil did Qabil is the name of the killer in the English language came the name Cain /kane is used Qabil, one of the sons of Adam, he was the son of the first of the creatures of Allah loved by Allah, adam alayhis-salam and Eve they were loved by Allah, Allah chose him to be the first our grandfather, the great great grandfather subhanAllah, he is the connection through which we are all brothers and sisters by the will of Allah. Allah (swt) tells us the story not for nothing for us to learn a lesson, Qabil comes about you know what he does? He decides I’m going to kill my brother. The brother is Habil, Habil in the English language Abel, so one is Cain /Kane, he is the killer and one is abel, he is the one who was killed, ok. What did Habil say to his brother just before he was killed?
It’s a very powerful statement that Allah mentions in the Quran Allah says the brother told his brother oh my brother, remember the brother just threatened to kill him right? oh my brother, if you are going to extend your arm to kill me I want to tell you I’m not going to extend my arm to kill you. because I fear Allah, i am conscious of Allah, who is lord of the worlds, I know. I don’t want to destroy my relationship with Allah by risking killing you.
Today people kill anyone and everyone in the name of the same Allah whom Allah says to us when Habil was making the statement he said I fear Allah who is Lord of the Worlds that’s why I’m not going to kill you. But today we kill the people thinking that we fear Allah. You see where we have gone upside down here and we use all sorts of different evidences to prove our point,
We are all creatures of Allah. You’re a true mumin, you believe in Allah if you believe in Allah you will believe that the same Allah who made you, made them. And if you believe in Allah and you want Allah to love you, you will love what Allah created and you will want goodness for those you will want goodness.
Allah (swt) from that story has taught us that there will be differences if you deal with these differences wrongly, you will destroy yourselves and you will regret.
Allah says because of that we prescribed that you know what? Whoever is going to kill some innocent soul, whoever is going to cause that is equivalent to the one who has destroyed entire humanity and if you save one life that person is equivalent in reward and in good deed similar to he or she who has saved entire humanity.
No matter, how much I differ with you, I need to make sure that I respect the fact that you are a human being and that Allah gave you life. I differ. I am to respect the person’s life does not mean you agree with them.
May we be respectful to one another even though we may disagree. When you disagree very strongly with someone that is not reason to disrespect the fact that they are human beings and they are owed the right as human beings for you to respect that life. – Mufti Menk
It is definitely an uncomfortable reality but nevertheless it is the truth. This is in reference to the reality which states that not all people who will meet Allah subhanahu wa’ta’ala on the day of reckoning with iman, with faith will be granted instant access to paradise. Unfortunately, that is not the case. There are certain deficiencies in Eman, ie in our Eman which may mean that some people will not experience paradise as the very first destination.
Therefore it’s for this exact reason that the Prophet Muhammad (saw) out of his love and mercy towards us strong with all what he possessed to guide us to certain characteristics and traits and behaviors to raise our Eman to high levels to ensure that we never need to feel the fire of hell before paradise which will raise us to the highest levels in Jannah.
I want to give you one such example of a hadith that does this. This is the famous hadith which Bukhari and Muslim narrate on the authority of Ans (Ra) where the messenger (saw) said none of you truly believed until you love for your brother what you love for yourself.
This is one of the fundamental narrations of the religion of Islam. The completion of your Eman, your faith depends upon the likes of this narration.
This is the first reason your Eman depends upon it. Number two: being shielded against the fire of hell depends upon this hadith.
Salvation, success, protection in the hereafter is hinged on to two principles: correcting your affair with Allah, your relationship with Allah, tawhid in Islam and then correcting your relationship with people.
So, reality of faith depends upon it, entry to jannah depends upon it. Protection from the Hellfire depends upon it look at number four: how Allah almighty treats you in this world and in the hereafter depends upon this hadith.
Why is it so easy to speak about this principle but in the lives of many people it’s so hard to apply? The answer is because it boils down to an illness deep inside and illness within the heart. A heart that convinces you that the losses of other people, somehow means that you’ve now automatically progressed in life is a terribly ill and a severely mistaken Heart.
The benefits of living by this principle loving for him what you love for yourself and this is part of completion of Eman and the benefit of this is not limited to the hereafter, the benefits extend to this world Allah is so generous.
By remembering that there is enough to go around, be at the service of others. There for those people who serve with sincerity, wanting for others what they want for themselves Allah does not them down in both of the worlds. Oh people! The promise of the almighty is the truth. World deceive you. It is very temporary and it is very fake, subhanAllah, and don’t let the big deceiver deceive you, Shaitaan; the devil, the big deceiver. He gonna come and try and make you do things that you’re not supposed to be doing. The almighty says its okay, Turn back to me as you turn back to the Almighty, He wipes out your sin. As He’s wiped out your sin the devil comes back and says no, you’re not forgiven. That almighty is not merciful.
The Almighty is not merciful. That’s a bigger sin than the sin you committed initially. Initially it was a sin out of your weakness. Now it’s a sin questioning who the Almighty is and denying one of His qualities known as the most merciful or the most forgiving, the most compassionate. So be careful be careful of the deception of this world.
Nobody from amongst us is perfect, not a soul, because part of the plan of the Almighty is human desire will lead you towards things that you’re not supposed to be doing. You may fall out of human weakness. Not because you’re defying Allah but you didn’t want to do it but you fell.
If you are walking here and you trip what would you do? Get up and do what? Keep walking, right? And even other persons coming and you turn around and see them what will you tell them? Be careful right? The winners are those who when they trip they get up and they keep going. We’re not perfect. Perfection is for the hereafter. When I am in here I shouldn’t lose hope number one but I need to keep trying to develop my relationship with Allah.
When you’re conscious of Allah and you have a relationship with Allah and you love Allah and that Allah is so close to you within your heart and you want to prove to Him that you love Him, wouldn’t you love everything that He has made? Even if you disagree with some of the people around you, your character will ensure that you don’t insult them or abuse them.
When I’m a pious person close to Allah I learned to love everyone to care for them, to treat them equally because they’re all the creatures of Allah. I will give them importance simply because they were created by the same one whom I’m trying to prove my love to. Be respectful; show it in your character.
Allah says in your life no matter what deeds you’ve done Allah says if you seek forgiveness I will forgive you.
When people are caught in immoral relations or illicit Affairs when they are married and the spouse catches them and says you know what? That’s the blessing of Allah that you were caught. You know why? Now you’re going to give it up, inshallah.
Nowadays people are not so forgiving, so if you’re caught, they’re gonna say I want out. I tell you my brothers and sisters not everyone who’s committed the sin is an evil person. They may have made a mistake. sometimes Allah wanted you to see something because he loved them so much and He knows by you making a big deal out of it that person’s gonna quit the habit and become such a better person, subhanAllah.
So it doesn’t mean that I need a divorce straight away. Don’t just listen to the world the world tells you the minute you catch your spouse doing something wrong that’s it, go home. I’ll tell you not necessarily means if the person is a good person, they taking care of you you’re taking care of each other, there’s a lot of respect, there’s kindness, there’s fulfilment of rights… mend it and keep the same Mercedes.
But if the person is evil and abusive and hurtful and they don’t fulfill their rights and they don’t dis and they don’t that and then you catch them doing X Y & Z then perhaps you might want to look into final separation that was the last stroke, gone.
I’m not going to share with you examples of love in those times of comfort. That’s easy to claim love. I would like to share with you perhaps four examples during times of difficulty. During times of war for example is when you see the true love that a person has for another, when it’s either your life or his.
When A woman from the tribe of dinah was given the news that her husband, brother and father had been killed after uhud, she said what happened to the prophet of Allah (ﷺ).They said Alhumdillah, he (ﷺ) is well. No, point him (ﷺ)out to me so that I can see him (ﷺ)with my own eyes. When she saw him (ﷺ) she said every calamity in life is small so long as you (ﷺ) are okay.
Why all of this love now we ask, what was it that they saw in him(ﷺ) that call was this obsession dear brothers and sisters? what did they see? what did they hear?
They saw in him (ﷺ) a human being who was a perfect embodiment of all of the values that he (ﷺ) called towards and invited them to be good people then they saw in him (ﷺ) the best of them all.
He (ﷺ) commanded them to be generous. They saw in him (ﷺ) the most generous of Allah’s creation describing him (ﷺ) like the wind that blows and scatters money… he (ﷺ) commanded the Muslims to be compassionate and gentle. you look at him (ﷺ)and you would think Allah had sent him (ﷺ) for no other purpose other than to pass a gentle caring hand over the head of the orphan and to support the widow to give encouraging advice to those who were let down, to respond to the invitations of the downtrodden in society and to eat from their food even if it was about to go off, he (ﷺ) would not break their hearts and visit those who were handicapped and disabled you would think Allah had sent him(ﷺ) for no other reason other than to be compassionate and kind. ~Shaykh Ali Hammuda Shaykh Ali Hammuda
You can’t guide those who love. When you read the story of Nuh (a.s) and that painful moments with his son, a prophet who called to Allah for 950 years, only had about 80 or so people and a man who loves his wife and who love son so much… the Shahadah of the wife of Nuh (a.s), the testimony of his wife or his son would be so much more beloved to him probably than everybody else, rights? Your family and he doesn’t have that.
At some point you either resign yourself and you say you know what I can’t do anymore. I just can’t help this person anymore. I can only pray for them and sometimes that person will die without you having been able to come to their aid or come to their help or come to their rescue to help them see the error of their ways and to move forward even and it’s not just human beings by the way even Allah subhana WA Ta’ala.
Though Allah always leaves the door of Tawbah open Allah subhana wa ta’ala talks about a group of people who insist upon the disobedience and no reminder is benefiting you know what? You want this dunya? Take it, go ahead them whatsoever at this point.
You can’t help someone who’s not willing to help themselves we know that but you can still love them even when your efforts have failed. They can’t stop you from making their dua for them. “You’re still in my prayers, I still love you, I still want what’s good for you”.
So the first thing you can’t help someone who’s not willing but you can still love them while your efforts have failed.
Don’t despair in people because if they see you despair in them that might be what causes them to despair in themselves. show people that you believe in them that you’re not giving up on them because they’re gonna hit a low point if they’re making mistakes and eventually when that happens. they’re gonna wonder if they have a chance to come back and you always have to be in their corner even if they’ve pushed you into a corner and say you do have a way back to Allah subhana wa ta’ala and you do have a way to come to come back to that success in that salvation.
If someone is trying to help you or give you Nasia, give you advice. If someone loves you and cares enough about you to make an effort to stop you from doing something that they believe is wrong at a major mistake, don’t do it in a perfect way, overlook those imperfections in the way that they’re trying to help you and instead appreciate the fact that they’re trying to help you.
Allah Almighty has promised those who courageously reject a sinful practice with that which is better. This is a promise that provides so much strength peace and solace and reassurance particularly to the young Muslim man or that young Muslim woman who may be struggling with a specific addiction of some sort or a particular private doing that they know will distance them from Allah and will distance them from success in the hereafter.
The prophet Muhammed (ﷺ)said “There is it anything that you leave for the sake of Allah, accept that He will replace you with something better”. That’s a promise and and Allah Almighty never fails in His promise.
Make the courageous decision from this moment onwards, to make amends to those habits, those relationships, those secret doings that you know need evicting from your life. Then, realize that the better replacement from Allah has already been dispatched and it is on its way, Allahu Akbar.
There are four things when Allah wants to create is one thing. He says be and it is, that’s a second thing. Then He says He owns it because He made it. The fourth thing is going to come back to Him.
The almighty has promised us that He won’t just tell us to do and not to do things randomly. There will always be a deeper purpose whether you understand it or don’t is beside the point. He says I will tell you what to do and what not to do. Allah says that in the Quran when He has laid instruction it’s never to create difficulty for you.
It might be difficult for a moment but long term you will definitely see the fruit of following the instruction of the Almighty. So the doubts that are created in the minds of the people are cleared when you understand who your Maker is. When you realize what revelation is all about.
Look at how science and technology and all these researchers keep changing their findings over time. Allah subhana wa ta’ala is telling us the sun moves to a certain extent. There was a time when people said impossible. The earth moves. When technology and science denied it completely people began to find fault in the revelation and said Revelation is wrong. Generations’ later people had to admit though the Sun moves but very little. Allah didn’t say how much it moves. He just said it moves.
Therefore ultimately Allah says something amazing in the Quran. We will show them and continue to show them signs within the horizons and in themselves, we will continue to show them more and more signs as the times pass that will prove to them ultimately that the Quran is the truth, subhanAllah.
we have already seen from the very beginning, the time of Muhammad (ﷺ)that those who felt this was wrong and that was wrong over time. they were found to be wrong but the Quran was right. – Mufti Menk
What a shame, what sadness what grief, overwhelms a person like the prophet (saw) when he sees his own uncles, when he sees people that have loved him his entire life and people that he loved his entire life and he’s not able to get them. Every single person that flees from his hand, sallallahu awaliy salam he wants so bad to help them.
He does not comfort himself sallallahu wasallam by looking at the wins to say the losses no longer matter but he rededicates himself to the possibility of converting those losses to wins of bringing them too. so the joy of the prophet (saw) when he sees these large groups of people was not that he could be complacent now but that it gave him hope that he could continue and that more people would come InshaAllah Ta’ala on that more people would follow, right and so in many ways.
You see an example from the messenger sallallahu alaihi wasallam of that same empathy that he had where he could not turn his face away from a child that was in poverty, that same empathy being reflected in everything else that he had. That’s part of Rahmatan Lil ‘Alamin. That’s part of him being a mercy to the world and that’s why on the day of judgement when the prophet sallallaahu alayhi wasalam has the one dua.
