Allah Does Not Lose His People! A Reminder During First 10-Days Of Dul-Hijjah | Shaykh Omar Suliman

Ibrahim/ Abrahim (A.S) is an amazing figure one who we take our Ritual from our Deen, from the great-grandfather of the Prophet salallahu alaihe wasalam who resembled the prophet (Saw) and the prophet (Saw)’s way resembles his way the most.

Hajar (A.S), wife of prophet Ibrahim (A.S) put into the spiral of uncertainty and has to figure it out along the way in a very unique way to her perspective and in a way that we can all take lessons of conviction and certainty in times of deep uncertainty.

This is a story of a woman that was in the house of the Pharaoh. hajar (A.s) at that point with full conviction, full certainty.

She said that Allah is not going to lose His people. I’m not worried then complete Sakina, complete trust, complete Tranquillity. Imagine this situation here; She’s going to be left in the desert with a baby. No one around her, but she says Allah does not lose his people.

Hajar (A.s) is demonstrating the most beautiful verses about what it means to trust in moments  Of uncertainty. You expect good from Allah, Allah will give you good.

As long as you have that certainty in Allah that it doesn’t matter what your circumstances are; Allah does not lose His people.

Dua at Mount Safa and Mount Marwah

Transliteration:

innaṣ-ṣafaa wal-marwata min sha‛aa’ir-illaah

’abda’u bi maa bada’-allaahu bih

allaahu akbar, allaahu akbar, allaahu akbar

laa ilaaha ill-allaahu waḥdahu laa shareeka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu wa huwa ‛alaa kulli shay’in qadeer, laa ilaaha ill-allaahu waḥdahu, anjaza wa‛dahu, wa naṣara ‛abdahu, wa hazam-al-’aḥzaaba waḥdah

Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said when describing the Prophet’s (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) pilgrimage: …and when he approached mount Safa he recited:

“Indeed Al-Safa and Al-Marwah are from the places of worship of Allah…”

“I begin with what Allah began with.”

…so he started with Safa and climbed it until he could see the Kabah, he then faced it and said:

“Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest.”

…and then he would say the following three times making a supplication (one should make a personal supplication) after each time:

“None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty and praise and He is over all things omnipotent. None has the right to be worshipped except Allah alone. He fulfilled His promise, aided His slave and single-handedly defeated the allies.”

…he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would repeat this action at Marwah.

The Best Deeds You Can Do During The Best 10 Days Of Dhul Hijjah | Mufti Menk

The days of the first 10 of Dhul-Hijjah are more valuable than the days of Ramadan speaking of daylight.

The prophet Muhammed (Saw) said there are no days in which Allah loves Deeds more than those that are done during these first 10 days of Dhul-Hijjah.

So if we were told that there are no days wherein Deeds are more loved by Allah then these 10; what should we be doing?

There is no point in sinning especially during a time when Allah says good deeds are most loved to me. We should be doing seeking the forgiveness of Allah often.

Why do you think He gives us these auspicious days and nights Him to tap us on the shoulder and tell us, it’s time you turned it to Allah.

“I Don’t Care Attitude” Promoting Complacency By Religious Texts – Mufti Menk

When the truth is mixed with falsehood and it is presented to people in order to promote complacency. Then we call it religious blackmail.

When someone tells you that Allah is in control; yes, we believe that. Nothing will happen except by the will of Allah. Yes, we believe that.

then they add to that Well, don’t worry, you don’t need To take any precautions about anything because there is no such thing as getting sick or getting ill and there is no such thing as this and that and sometimes they go as far as saying sustenance is from Allah alone. You’re earning is only from Allah. So sleep and don’t get off your bed, stay there and if money or sustenance is written for you, It will drop through the ceiling or it will come into your bed. We know that that is a joke.

The last part of it is a Joke, it is wrong. It is actually something known as tawākul (false trust in Allah).

When we lay specific trust we have to ask ourselves have I played my role. The role Allah has asked me to play.

When you use religious texts in order to promote complacency and you’ve married the truth with falsehood that is called religious blackmail. Let’s be careful.

Don’t ever promote complacency; never ever lie to people regarding what the almighty wants from them.

The Best Dua To Guide For The Best Decision Amidst Uncertainty – Mufti Menk

Whenever Allah has set rules and regulations every single time, It is in order to empower Us in order to liberate Us in order to grant us the contentment were searching for in this world And the next.

Some of the happiest people have very little when it comes to material belongings, but they have the ownership of something. That is very great. That is the relationship with Allah.

The Blessing Of Staying Away From Haram Income And Relationship~Mufti Menk

In verse number 94 (surah-Al-Ma’idah), Allah loves it when we stay away from things for His sake.

Only to test you Allah allows certain things He has prohibited to be accessible to you and He makes it easy for you to do achieve that but you stay away for His sake.

When a person is married for the sake of their spouse. They would sometimes stay away from adultery Etc. But if you were to do it for the sake of Allah, it is far broader and you will achieve the happiness of your spouse too subhanallah….

Even if the person comes to you and really asks you to commit the sin with them, if you were to abstain bearing Allah in mind, aren’t you on a Higher level? You achieve the Comfort.

When adultery is very easy to commit and you still stay away from it. You’ve arrived at a different level in your relationship with Allah.

When things are prohibited, sometimes Allah might test you by making it accessible; it is so tempting to earn money in the wrong way. Allah says, do you prefer me or you prefer the money that is earned in a wrong..

Why? SubhanAllah, it’s up to you to prove yourself to Allah.

So those who stay away they have the correct relationship with Allah.

Duas Whilst Being Nearest To Allah To Get What You Want At The Blessed Times | Mufti Menk

The most important acts of worship but within the Salah there is a certain position that is by far the loftiest, the most loved by Allah, the highest position considered; the position wherein which the son of Adam meaning humankind would be the closest to his Lord, SubhanAllah,  the closest that a worshiper could be to his rabb, to his Lord: of sujood/ Prostration.

Sujood /prostration is solely for Allah only and solely for Allah that is one act of worship that he has given us as a gift and in the Sharia that we follow the set of rules and laws that, we follow given to us by Allah subhanahu wa’ta’ala through Muhammad sallallahu Alayhi wasallam, we were taught that it’s absolutely disallowed.

Dua in sujood/ prostration

Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu’minin: The Apostle of Allah (saw) prostrated himself at night when reciting the Qur’an. He said repeatedly: My face prostrates itself to Him Who created it and brought forth its hearing and seeing by His might and power.

سَجَدَ وَجْهِي لِلَّذِي خَلَقَهُ وَشَقَّ سَمْعَهُ وَبَصَرَهُ بِحَوْلِهِ وَقُوَّتِهِ ‏”

sajad wajhi liladhi khalaqah washaqa sameah wabasarah bihawlih waquatih

Surah Al-Mu’minun [23:14] –

فَتَبَارَكَ اللَّهُ أَحْسَنُ الْخَالِقِينَ

Fa tabarakallhu ahsan al-Khaliqin.”

So blessed is Allah, the best of creators.

We’re not allowed to engage in prostration except for Allah subhanahu wa’ta’ala. no matter what the reason is, even if it is cultural. It still is prohibited to prostrate in the same way. You would be prostrating in sujood for anyone or anything else.

Take your time in prostration. I humble myself for Allah. Allah will raise me.

whenever you are sad, whenever you’re feeling anxious, whenever you don’t know, what’s about to happen, Whenever there is uncertainty in your life. Whenever people are trying to harm you; one of the best ways of benefiting yourself is to pray two units of prayer and to prolong your sujood.

so the prostration will help you overcome that hurt, that sadness that anxiety, those negative feelings. What will help you? Prostration will help you.

Tricks Of Ad-Dajjal To Take Religion Away | Mufti Menk

Firstly when the dajjal comes we will be tested in four ways. He will try to take our religion away from us. So that is the test of religion.

And dajjal refers to two things one is what we know is ad-dajjal /”deceiver” but then there is what is known as the fitna of dajjal.

Anything, anything at any time that is connected to any one of the tests that we have been taught that dajjal will bring forth is also part and parcel of his force.

So anyone trying to take your religion away from you is a dajjal.

They want to take their religion away from people. We all need to cling, cling to the deen. Allah says in the Quran; hold fast upon the Rope of Allah subhanahu wa’ta’ala. don’t be Disunited….

May Allah grant us unity and may Allah subhanahu wa’ta’ala grant us the ability to hold fast on those rope; the Rope here referring to the Quran and the Sunnah of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam.

Why Are You Taking To This Sister | Mufti Menk

What would it have cost me to have come out and be nice to them and so on?

some people say but why don’t you discuss this particular topic, for those of them who are my friends I tell them, well, have you discussed, they say, yes. Well then isn’t that enough? I mean look you’re doing one thing. I’m doing one thing. I’m not going to tell you do what I’m doing. So, please don’t tell me do what you’re doing because all of this we’re working for the same boss, for the same deen.

We’re calling towards the same Allah. So, it’s amazing how it doesn’t cost us to be kind to be nice.

You have to be kind to everyone. You have to smile at everyone. You have to greet everyone. You have to try and listen…. , I’m speaking to her as though she’s my own sister, someone is crying and a lot of the times one good word from you would change her life by the help of Allah. Why not, that’s your opportunity.

We want to cater for humankind at large.

Whose Greetings You Don’t Have To Respond In Islam | Mufti Menk

Many of us have an issue sometimes where if we don’t like someone we find it difficult to greet them or to respond to the greeting. Allah says when you are greeted, reply the greeting.

So this is something you need to know greet people and respond to their Greetings in a beautiful way and Allah will open your doors.

if there is someone who you know for a fact, is making a mockery of it Then you don’t respond that particular lies. The lies are because they’re telling you peace be upon you but they don’t mean it at all.

However, Allah says still try to greet back.

When your greet someone, be genuine. This is Allah teaching us clean your heart.
