the topic of sabr which the well-known thing but I think there are sometimes there are some misunderstandings in our community about the concept, the nature of sabr what it actually means and what it doesn’t mean as well.
What constitutes bear righteousness that the patience, those who are patient in Misfortune and hardship and a times of peril or danger.
To stay away from things which are prohibited, forbidden and to avoid temptations that also requires sabr. So much more widespread meaning also one thing sabr isn’t but in English the word patience implies it is the sort of passive acceptance. That’s not sabr, not passively accepting something.
We can’t use sabr as an excuse for bad behavior. It’s not a virtue to be a patient victim or a passive victim.
In Islam, We don’t have a victim mentality. We’re not victims, whatever the situation is…
We should be people who actually speak out … against oppression or Injustice or wrongdoing. It’s not a virtue to be patient about it in a passively accepting way.
When is the help of Allah subhanaw Taala going to come and particularly in the context of the Ayah; Do you think that you will enter into Jannah and then Allah subhanahu wa’ta’ala to takes us through the various difficulties and to the point where the messenger and the Believers that are with Him say when is the help of Allah…
And verily the help of Allah is near?
We deal with the question of when meaning when I make duaa, when is it going to be answered?
Understand the way that Allah subhanahu wa’ta’ala proportions his Mercy in this world in relation to the next.
Don’t concern yourself with the way that it’s going to be answered, just concern yourself with the ability to make that dua at in the first place And that is a blessing from Allah subhanaw Taala that you are driven to the ability to call upon Him.
For Allah to answer you in a way that is best for you,
You make that dua and you entrust that dua to Allah (swt) the One that you’re calling upon to answer it in a way that’s best for you.
The prophet salallahu alaihe wasalam said Allah subhanaw Taala will answer every one of you so long as you don’t become Hasty. How do you become Hasty? That a person would say I called upon Allah subhanaw taala, and He did not answer me.
Do not Let the shaitaan tell you that the delay in the answer to your dua is some indication of Allah subhanaw Taala not loving you,
You desperately want to marry someone and Allah knows that something really bad is going to happen afterwards. He may save you from it by answering your prayer by not giving you what you want simply because He loves you more than you love yourself, Subhanallah.
Allah definitely answers your prayer. Your duty is to keep asking keep nagging, keep repeating repeat every day. He loves it when you repeat o Allah grant me, o Allah you are most merciful.
People say my dua is not answered. Number one: praise Allah, number two: Seek the Forgiveness of Allah, number three send blessings and salutations upon Muhammad Peace Be upon him his family, his household his companions, number four: ask what you want in the most beautiful ways and asking any language you want, keep repeating it and express how desperately you want it if you really shed a tear or two it would help because SubhanAllah, Allah is Very very merciful, you know when you shed a tear, subhanallah? It actually is another level of Supplication.
Then as you’re ending your prayer, make sure you end it again with the blessings and salutations upon Muhammad Sallallahu wasallam and perhaps some Praise of Allah subhanahu wa’ta’ala, that’s how you ask Allah and if you were to proceed your supplication with a good deed the chances of it being accepted are far more.
Ruling on rice vinegar, then somebody else asked about red wine vinegar and balsamic vinegar:
The Maliki Scholars and the Hanafi scholars, They say that vinegar doesn’t matter what source it came if it came from wine, if it came from dates, if it came from Rice.. This is… its all fine.
Because when it was …if it was wine in the middle, it gets changed over into another substance, which is vinegar which is pure and which is halal.
Wine vinegar, is it Halal? Is it okay to have in a salad?
So people sometimes ask about alcohol in sanitizers, alcohol in Perfumes and in some cosmetics and so on What about that? People are saying how could you have alcohol in Sanitizers and then read Salah? How could you have alcohol in your perfume and then read salah?
This world and the other world… the distance between this world and the next world is only one breath. Whoever is breathing is still continuous and you’re in this world and whoever’s breathing has stopped then you’re in the other world. this whole bead of breathing place inside the pearls of sending Salawat on prophet (saw) and keep on saying sallallahu alaihi wasallam between each breath.
Then whether it’s this world or the other world that will be with you if you did that? The leader of the Two Worlds Muhammad sall-Allahu ‘alayhi wa sallam will be with you.
What is Allah’s wisdom behind these troubles and these difficulties? What is Allah’s decree/ what is his Qadr? And what his…. the end what is the objective of Allah’s decree from our perspective?
Allah’s decree is divided into two kinds that one is apparent before our eyes and another one is hidden from us. What we see Is our experiences
Allah has decreed that we cannot see that we must accept and the believer must be pleased with, why? Because there is only good in our Allah’s decree for the believer.
Our power of comprehension is no absolute; it’s limited. We may think something that is good to be evil and we may think something that is evil to be good.
So Allah (swt) tests us with what we can cope; Nevermore Allah tests us with what we can handle and that is why we must have certainty.
Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (ra), the noble companion of the messenger Salallahu alayhi wasalam was an example of someone who saw the good in what people considered evil.
He (Ra)said if I’m hungry, my heart softens. if I am sick my sins decrease and if I die, I will meet my Lord.
The good that leads to the Hellfire is absolute evil and the evil that leads to Paradise is absolute good. The beginning is temporary but the end is Everlasting.
The prophet (saw) had four things to give to the companions to transform their lives from the ignorance to the enlightened life in the Surah Al-Jumu’ah [62:2] of the Quran.
The Quran itself is the biggest source of knowledge; it’s not enough just to know Arabic. You have to know what Allah meant by those Arabic words. So this is another whole section of knowledge, which the prophets (saw) passed onto the sahaba.
It’s not just enough to recite the Quran. We need to know what those specific meanings of the Quran are sent to us.
But if you don’t know when to apply that knowledge, where to apply that knowledge; You don’t know how much of the knowledge to apply. Then you basically hit another big rock.
When to apply that knowledge, where to apply that knowledge, how much of that knowledge to apply, to whom to apply that knowledge to these all hikmah, and purify heart by removing illnesses like arrogance, pride, jealousy in heart to function that knowledge well
So our attitude and so on inside needs to change to save ourselves from the days of ignorance, of the days of jahiliyyah by gaining the spiritual cleanliness.
So the prophet (saw) came to recite the verses, He came to teach us the book, the meaning of the book, he taught us how much to apply what not to apply from his Sunnah, to have his wisdom of knowing where to apply, to whom to apply to, and most importantly after that is for our own spiritual cleanliness of the heart, the prophet salallahu alaihe Salam also gave us that teaching that was supposed to clean our inside.
Surah Al-Asr, despite it being so short, It has a very profound meaning; in terms of a general sense some of the scholars they say that the overall meaning of Surah Al-Asr Is a message about success; the definition of what real successes And what real failure looks like.
Ideas of success whether they come from, do they come from a reading the Quran, listening to the words of the prophet (saw) or have they been fed to us from the media, had been fed to us through Society our environment, you know, and if that is the case, how does it stack up to The definition of success given to us for example Surah Al-Asr?
Look at this Surah, Allah subhanahu wa’ta’ala Beginning by taking an oath in order Usually the meaning of an oath is to raise our estimation about what is to be sent to catch our attention and to show emphasis About what is going to be mentioned thereafter.
Allah’s perspective on things is the correct perspective, is the only true perspective.
Allah says, the reason why they’re not included amongst those that are in khusr/in loss is because they do four things: Yes, these four key qualities define our understanding of who is a good person.
Do we still class them as a good person from a point of view Islam? and the answer is given in this Surah.
So the definition of who is successful is based on these if these four things are encapsulated in a person’s belief and character and lifestyles then they are considered to be a good person based on the teachings of the Quran and the Sunnah of the prophet (saw).
To be a successful human being, to be a good person, a good Muslim part of it is going out there and being very open about your faith with other people in sha Allah,
Embody four characteristics: Faith, Good Deeds, openly propagating Islam and being steadfast on the consequences of all of this
Sometimes it’s not actually about being lazy that that is the reason why you fail to do certain things. It’s actually because of knowledge and not knowing how to do it and then not doing it and thinking it’s out of laziness.
the trick of the shaitaan, He knows that if you prayed in the earliest time, then you would pray as if you were offering the Salah as a gift to Allah even though it benefits you, but you are giving it to Allah as a sign of your submission to Him. It’s like a gift offering to Allah.
So now how do you overcome that?
Well, here’s one tip that I can give you and that is to set yourself in Iqamah time,
So now it’s the prayer which is like a gift to Allah and not I pray that you’re trying to get rid of the burden and not I pray that you’re trying to get rid of the burden of.
The next question you don’t understand a word that you just said, how do you expect your heart be present? How do you expect your mind to be focused? How is that even possible?
So my advice is to try to memorize the translation of all the words of Salah and when you do that, you will find immediately that you, your mind has something to think about and it’s to do with the prayer and then it builds this type of connection And with that connection comes humility.
My heart is surrender to you as well as my body.
The postures of the salah, this symbols and you you try to you know, think about a contemplate over those things during the Salah you will find the transformation your prayer and insha Allah, you’ll find khushuya which is the number one quality that makes people successful……
Today’s khutbah I dedicate for ourselves. Mahasabha/ reflecting, pondering about your own situation because we all know that the betterment of the ummah starts right here. Right here, at yourself in your heart.
We are good criticizing everyone around us. But Honestly, I think we struggle criticizing ourselves. Whereas, we see that the sahaba radi Allahu anhum, they were very very critical with themselves.
The recipe of a shahabi was in that story was that he was reflecting upon his own deeds and his own actions every single night before he went to sleep and his recipe for jannah That he used to forgive every single one of the Muslims who wronged him during that day.
a characteristics of True Believers; they really reflect what they have done during the day during the week, during the month, during the year. So to better them, keep on doing what you found to be good and get rid actively of the things that put you on the path of shaitan.
What have we sacrificed for Allah?
The sake of this Deen of Allah subhanahu wa’ta’ala, for the sake of not you
We all have fantastic intentions when it comes to what we want to do Fi sabilillah in our life, But acting upon this intentions that’s where we struggled sometimes. how can you justify standing in front of Allah subhanahu wa’ta’ala and say I worked the decade two, three and I knew it was haram. But I was too comfortable.
Look into the mirror and say what am I doing? Do something.
If Prophet Muhammad Muhammad salallahu alaihe wasalam was to visit you today. What would you do? Would you be proud……
The change in the Ummah starting our houses in and if we can’t reflect upon our own situation, We have no right to criticize anyone else.
Asking Allaah for Taqwa and Purification of the Soul
Allahumma, ‘aati nafsee taqwaaha, wa zakkihaa Anta khairu man zakkaahaa, Anta Waliyyuhaa wa Maulaaha O Allah, grant my soul taqwa and purify it, You are the Best of those who purify it, You are its Protecting Friend and Guardian/Master.
to have the willingness and their intention to change ourselves But then also recognize that we will not be able to do that fully except if we put our forehead on the ground and say Ya Allah help me.
What is Haram and why is this month called Muharram?
As Muslims we are Supposed to be making resolutions every night. We’re supposed to be renewing our vows to with Allah subhanahu wa’ta’ala every night. We’re supposed to be seeking forgiveness every night. We’re taught to make sure when we go to bed, We make peace with Allah subhanahu wa’ta’ala there is a supplication that you and I are supposed to be reading before going to bed every night and part of it Is that o Allah if you take my soul away in Sleep then have mercy on it.
And if you send it back then meaning if you allow me to awaken in the morning, then protect me in the same way that you protect the pious friends of yours or the pious slaves of yours.
If you’ve fallen into sin again And again, you need to go back to Allah again And again and again
The month of Muharram, Yes as much as it is the first month of The Islamic calendar, we need to realize it has a certain value, the prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam towards the end of his life used to fast a lot in the month of Muharram and the fasts of Muharram also hold great value with the 10th of Muharram being the peak of these fasts, subhanallah.
What Exactly Happened On The 10th Of Muharram & It’s Some Misconceptions
This depicts the Victory of the oppressed over the oppressor. It also depicts the defeat of the oppressor, no matter how powerful he thinks he is. So we should be pondering for a moment and we should be thanking Allah and we should have hope in Allah if someone has wronged Remember Triumph will come remember, they will be Defeated.
Remember Allah subhanahu wa’ta’ala is not oblivious of what is happening. He knows and he is going to deal with the matter decisively.
