Ubayy ibn Ka‘b (ra) said: I said: O Messenger of Allah, I send a great deal of blessings upon you; how much of my du‘aa’ should be sending blessings upon you? He said: “Whatever you wish.” I said: One quarter? He said: “Whatever you wish, and if you do more, that will be better.” I said: One half? He said: “Whatever you wish and if you do more, that will be better.” I said: Two thirds? He said: “Whatever you wish and if you do more, that will be better.” I said: I will make all of my du‘aa’ for you. Mufti Menk Quote in this lecture, “If you stay in the company of someone and you make sure that your friends are those who are good; who have a good scent when I say good scent, I’m not talking of hugo boss and all those smells no; we are talking about a spiritual flavor to the life of an individual -they are truthful they are honest. They are free from drugs free and from alcohol inshallah you will find yourself naturally -you will find yourself very uncomfortable even when you want to light a cigarette- none of them smoke that is the power of company”.

#MuftiMenk mentions the lessons from the life of Sa`d ibn Abi Waqqas radiallahu ana who was one of the ten and the seventh Muslim at early stage given news of #paradise by Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam in one gathering. Mufti Menk also mentions from the quotes of Sa`d ibn Abi Waqqas (ra) “Three things! I always ensure are clean my tongue, my heart and my wealth. I make sure they’re clean. With my tongue I never abuse, I never say anything, I constantly remember Allah, I use good words and I make sure that I don’t hurt people with my tongue. With my heart I make sure that I don’t have malice and hatred for anyone, no jealousy for anyone and my wealth I make sure it is absolutely clean and pure never pinching never stealing never usurping never deceiving anything at all; whatever came Alhamdulillah through hard work and sweat”.

In this lecture #MuftiMenk mentions the lessons from #Ali ibn Abi Talib (Ra) who was known as Kitab ul Wahi that was an honor given to him Ali ibn Abi Talib (ra) -one of the ten who were told you are from #paradise and he is a person who loves Allah and Allah loves him in return that’s confirmed by the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam. Ali ibn Abi Talib (Ra) was the first from among the boys, the young boys those who had not yet attained puberty to actually accept Islam. This lecture was given at Light Upon Light Conference in December, 2017.

Mufti Menk Quote in this lecture “If people try to create disunity amongst you and hatred amongst you; don’t allow that to happen; do not allow that to happen when people spew hate don’t let it filter into your heart; no we should never be tasting wrath from one another but rather when you see a fellow believer you should feel so good ; you should feel calm ; you should feel that I have a brother I have a sister and in order to feel that feeling you should give it to others as well”.

Mufti Menk said “where is the sense of #justice; where is your courtesy, your #humility, your #honesty, your #humbleness, where is it gone? Wouldn’t we like to be the true ambassadors; don’t you want to be one of those who are going to paradise; well those were the qualities of those who were told you are from #paradise.
